In 1986 I rented some business property in Creswell, Oregon. On the grounds of that property, an old millsite, was a fifty foot tall wigwam burner. I recorded on film some of the changes time and Mother Nature brought upon it. In December of 1999, Mother Nature delivered what would prove to be a fatal blow to the old burner, as a freak tornado visited Creswell and did a great deal of damage to it. In the interest of safety and liability issues, the property owners had the remnants of the burner dismantled in January of 2000. At that time, not having a clue of what I was getting into, I decided to try to locate and photograph all of the remaining burners. Over five years and nearly two hundred burners later I have decided to attempt to showcase some of my favorite photos and offer them for sale. Don't worry, there are not two hundred photos offered here. As you might imagine, some of the burners are not very photogenic, and many are almost completely covered with vegetation or nearly falling down.
Although it is the primary focus, the sawmill refuse burner is not the only subject matter offered here. I will also offer photos of covered bridges, old barns and most anything else that I find interesting.
